Elsewhere, a travel company, is recruiting a Social Media Manager to create strategic and engaging content for Elsewhere. You will be responsible for the management and operations of Elsewhere’s social platforms. Ideal candidate is someone with a creative mind, excellent copywriting skills, and proven track record of creating and growing a loved brand. The position is based remotely, with the option of coming into the Lonely Planet office in New York City. 

Elsewhere is a values driven company focusing on an ethical and sustainable approach to tourism. Elsewhere is a subsidiary of Lonely Planet Global Inc and Red Ventures. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Content creation and management of all social media channels.
  • Imagines and executes engagement-driving and community-building ideas and tactics across all platforms.
  • Works closely with local expert network and Elsewhere clientele to create and deliver content.
  • Partners with PR, editorial, creative, and video teams internally and externally to create and deliver content.
  • Day-to-day community management and outreach across all platforms.
  • Manages and owns business analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other marketing leaders to ensure brand consistency and exchange best practices.
  • Contribute content to Elsewhere’s blog, newsletter, and website.

What We’re Looking For:

    • Social media expert with a strategic and creative understanding of how to create engaging, clickable, and on-brand social content.  
    • Experience creating and executing a full content/ campaign lifecycle.
    • Creative and out-of-the box thinker. Ability to draw inspiration from anywhere. 
    • Excellent copywriter with a keen understanding of and ability to execute Elsewhere’s brand and copy style.
    • Deep understanding of emerging social media trends, best practices and tools and platforms. 
    • Analytical with the ability to identify key insights and optimize social campaigns based on results.
    • Strong time management skills with obsessive attention-to-detail.
    • Ability to work in an environment with a high level of autonomy.
    • Expertise in using social platforms both as a consumer and professional/ business.
